Hello Volunteers!
We're so excited you've expressed interest in joining our network of passionate volunteers. This initiative will help us greatly in continuing to cultivate Turkey Creek Nature Preserve as a family-friendly and historically-conscientious greenspace.
What you can expect from this orientation/training is a crash course of information including hand-outs of basic park information, FAQ's to expect from visitors, potentially some time in the creek to learn about the "Life of a Stream" activity, and historical preserve facts and stories you'll be able to inform visitors about. We'll also discuss the format of this volunteer position, available shifts, and the pertinent resources that will be at your disposal. We will plan to meet at the Turkey Creek Nature Preserve Pavilion which will be on your right as you pass the front gate and admin office. We'll have some snacks and other goodies to give out, so please aim to arrive on time so we can get started promptly.
For any questions feel free to email/call me (sloan@jeffcogreenways.org/(901)299-3039). We're very excited to get this volunteer opportunity rolling and are very appreciative of your interest and commitment ahead of time.
