Ruffner Mountain Garden Workday

Calling all volunteers!

Come join our Volunteer Coordinator and our Conservation Director as we tend our native habitat gardens at Ruffner Mountain. We will identify native plants, weed, thin, deadhead, and much more! We will be cutting back last year's plant stalks and doing some general tidying of the gardens to prepare for spring. Our focus spaces will be (at least) the habitat garden (the one with the circular pathway, the limestone garden (at the flagpole), the chert circle (the garden in the middle of the entrance drive) and the sumac prairie (the triangular space surrounded by the sidewalks).

Volunteer hours can be applied toward Alabama Master Gardener and Alabama Master Naturalist programs.
